Jess recommended a tip from Mark our tutor today - when modeling, instead of using a sphere as a primitive to model with, start instead with a cube and smooth its edges (say subdivision 3) and this will provide you with easier UVs to work with! Here are some screenshots to illustrate this;
- Draw a cube using the primitive cube tool - Create > Polyogon Primitives > Cube
- Select the cube and then - Mesh > Smooth > Smooth Options
- Input 3 divisions in the Options Box
- Notice the difference!!
